Project Description

Northlink WA is a State and Federal Government funded road upgrade project that will provide a transport link between Morley and Muchea in Perth’s Metropolitan area. John Holland were awarded the Southern Section from Guilford Road to Reid Highway. Key works include upgrading Tonkin Highway to a six-lane freeway between Guildford Road and Reid Highway; constructing a new interchange at Collier Road and interchange at Morley Drive; and a new flyover at Benara Road over Tonkin Highway.

Monford were engaged by John Holland to complete construction works on the Collier Road bridge superstructure, ramp retaining wall capping beams, the underpass and Benara Road bridge.

Scope of Work

  • Construction of all superstructure elements including bearings, precast edge parapets, blinding, approach slabs, expansion joints and expansion sealants
  • Construction of pile capping beams
  • Installation of all necessary temporary support works for the Tee-Roff beam installation
  • Construction of the bridge in-situ edge barrier
  • Construction of all footing elements
  • Installation of trapezoidal arch elements
  • Construction of all substructure footings and superstructure
  • Installation of new skylight into existing underpass structure
  • Construction of in-situ wing walls, headwalls, underpass walls, underpass roof slabs and guardrail footings
  • Design, supply and install formwork
