Project description

Located on the Burrup Peninsula, about eight kilometres north of Dampier in Western Australia, Woodside’s Pluto Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Project is one of the world’s fastest developed LNG projects. Spanning about 96 hectares, Pluto Site B contained the main units associated with LNG processing, utilities, power generation, slug catcher and effluent treatment areas. Monford completed the civil works associated with the import and export pipelines for the storage and loading facility of the project.

Scope of work

  • Construction of six substations, three field auxiliary rooms and one combined substation / field auxiliary room
  • Construction and backfilling of reinforced concrete foundations
  • Installation and testing of carbon steel, RC and GRE pipework
  • Manufacture and installation of precast manholes, pits and retaining walls
  • Formation of road and associated access ways to the underside of pavement and associated temporary and permanent works
  • Construction of two buildings, one to house the state-of-the-art central control room and administration centre (CCR) and the other a guardhouse/medical facility
