Project description

The Nurrumbidgee to Googong Water Transfer is one component of the Water Security – Major Projects, a suite of water security infrastructure initiatives being implemented by ACTEW to secure the Australian Capital Territory’s water supply. The 1m diameter pipeline transfers up to 100 megalitres/day of raw water from Nurrumbidgee River to a pipeline running via the Burra district to Googong Reservoir. A pump station was also constructed close to the Nurrumbidgee River, and the water discharged into Burra Creek upstream of Googong Reservoir.
