Project description

Fortescue Metals Group engaged Monford to undertake the installation of underground services on the Solomon Mine Project. As head contractor, Monford also coordinated and executed all traffic management, and implemented its rigorous safety, quality and environmental management plans and systems.

Scope of work

  • Procurement and delivery to site – lighting poles, bolt cages, hold-down bolts, nuts, washers, pole cover doors, lamp-mounting hardware and accessories
  • Supply and install the low-voltage (LV), below-ground electrical conduit (11,910 metres), including trenching, conduits and pits, draw-in cable, survey, backfill and information tape placement / cable marker
  • Supply and install 11 high-voltage/low-voltage bollards
  • Install process water, raw water, saline water, oily water, fire water, potable water and sewer system piping (7,725 metres)
  • Commission and test all installed equipment
