Project description

Monford provided construction services for the Woleebee Creek to Glebe Weir Pipeline – a largescale steel pipeline to transport treated coal seam gas water from a QGC water treatment plant. This included the construction of a water tank, detailed earthworks for foundation preparation, pipe-laying and inlet works, and construction of an in-situ concrete balance tank and pump station building.

It also required compliance with Sunwater’s construction management plane, in particular, commitments to the local community to access property, communications protocols, and environmental measures.

Scope of work

  • Construct a 120-kilometre, 914-1404mm MICL pipeline, pump station, 5 million litre balance tank and extensive weir outlet works
  • Set up and place blinding (135m2 )
  • Supply, install and remove formwork, access and edge/height protection scaffold, falsework, propping, fall protection
  • Cast concrete bases, ring beams and walls (790m3 )
  • Make joints in waterproofing materials (1,200m2 )
  • Install reinforcement for slabs, walls and foundations (195t)
  • Incorporate waterproofing, pipe work and fabricated elements
  • Apply joint fillers and sealants
  • Construct concrete spillway apron (95m3 )
  • Supply and apply all curing membranes and construction chemicals
  • Complete hydrostatic testing of the tank
  • Excavate service trenching
