260MW SOLAR FARM
SECTOR
Energy

Scope of Work
The 260MW Solar Farm, located 2km north-east of Jindera in the Greater Hume Shire, New South Wales, is set to become a major contributor to renewable energy generation. Covering 300 hectares, the project will feature approximately 394,000 solar panels and is expected to generate 507GWh of electricity annually, powering around 100,000 homes.
As the EPC contractor, Monford Group was responsible for all civil, mechanical, and electrical works, including engineering, design, procurement, and commissioning. This large-scale renewable energy project demonstrates our ability to deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions that contribute to a cleaner energy future. Once operational, the Glenellen Solar Farm will generate 507GWh of clean energy annually—enough to power approximately 76,400 Australian homes. By doing so, it will offset around 170,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year.
Innovations and Challenges Overcome
Monford overcame a range of challenges on the Glenellen Solar Farm through innovation, planning, and collaboration. Strict environmental and traffic controls were managed with ongoing monitoring to minimise visual impact and ensure sustainability.
The site’s remote location required innovative logistics, including detailed scheduling, local supplier engagement, and early contractor partnerships to streamline deliveries and workforce mobilisation. Weather impacts were mitigated through adaptive planning, and structural stability was ensured with geotechnical surveys and GPS-enabled piling, reducing rework and supporting safe, efficient construction.
