Project description

As part of the redevelopment plan for the Port Hedland area a range of residential, commercial and industrial subdivisions are being constructed to support the growing needs of the town Monford provided civil works for the concurrent construction of:

  • Precinct 3 – an industrial and commercial development located near Port Hedland International Airport, funded by BHP Billiton Iron Ore
  • Elements Estate and The Osprey Estate – residential developments in South Hedland
  • Wedgefield Industrial Estate

Monford had to effectively schedule concurrent works on multiple sites to achieve productivity with appropriate resource levels to meet the project’s tight timeframe.

Scope of work

  • Roadworks including pavement construction and drainage
  • Construct 28,000 m2 of concrete footpaths
  • Supply and install culvert bases – 7 culverts and 12 wing walls
  • Install 600 x 100mm concrete edging behind kerb along drains (62m2)
  • Install and commission water and stormwater infrastructure to Water Corporation standards
